Adventist Education Means a Positive Place

Adventist education has made a positive impact on my life, but I haven’t always seen it that way. I was raised in a Christian home and was always sent to an Adventist school. At a former school I often felt bullied and put down. I would come home and ask, “Are you sure that that school is Christian?” But when we moved, and I started coming to Livingstone Adventist Academy, my whole point of view was changed. I became closer to God and my parents. Even my relationship with my friends is at an all-time high. There are many things I enjoy about the Adventist education I am receiving.

One of my favorite things is that we have the freedom to be spiritual. Every Friday, without fail, we have a chapel. Just being able to be in an environment of worship is really nice and calming. Another thing I enjoy are the Bible classes. I have loved ending the day with the Word and a chance to study our Savior. I love being able to openly learn about God. And just the fact that I can pray, knowing that no one is going to put me down or judge me, is truly a miracle.

One of the other things I appreciate about Adventist education is the smaller class sizes I have encountered. This provides me with more opportunities for one-on-one time with my teacher and allows me to ask more questions. When I do not understand the material, I don’t have to rush in seeking help. The smaller number of students in the classrooms has helped me to bond much more closely with my classmates. I can develop special relationships with everyone in the class and bond with some on a much deeper level.

My Adventist school has provided so many options to learn in different environments. We can learn in the classroom, or we can take a hike outside. I enjoy the wide variety of the places that we visit, like our weeklong trip to Rosario. Service days bring the option of learning what love looks like in the open. I always feel closer to God when I learn to practice acts of kindness for people who are in need.

I have cherished every moment here at Livingstone, and I am so thankful for everyone who has made the positive impact in my life. Without them, I would probably still be in that pit of despair, and loneliness. But thanks to them, I understand that there is always positivity in my life. It has come from the education and the love that this school has shown me. Thank you to my teachers and my friends.
