AAA Seniors Learn About Professions

The Auburn (Wash.) Adventist Academy class of 2018 invited local professionals to speak at their annual senior dedication to learn about the professions they are planning to enter.

Mark Bruder, a flight nurse, emphasized the importance of the job as a medical professional. Bruder recalled the events of one of his days on the job and how each step and part helped to save a man's life.

Gerald Burke, owner of a small business, emphasized that customer service is an important part of every job you do and making a small business a success.

Angel Ogando, lead pastor at Auburn Adventist Academy Church, spoke to students of the value of letting God lead in their lives as they planned for their futures. Ogando had previous plans in his life when God decided to change his mind on his chosen profession in college.

“The speakers gave incredible wisdom for the people entering their select fields. I really appreciated it,” says Amber Petty-Torres, senior at Auburn Adventist Academy.

The dedication was organized and run by the senior class, including handling special music, prayer and introductions to speakers. The program was followed by a reception organized by the class of 2019.
