Chewelah Church Has Lots to Celebrate

It’s been a busy fall for the Chewelah Church with one children’s evangelistic program, two baptisms and triplets dedicated.

The children’s program, Amazing Adventures, hosted by Doug Batchelor of Amazing Facts was used as a community outreach by the Chewelah Church. The programs were taped and then presented on Friday and Saturday evenings over five weeks' time, rather than 10 days straight. This worked better for those from the community who wanted to attend. Luann Hansen organized the program with helpers from the children’s divisions and church family. The children worked on a craft project during the parents' part of the program. They could choose to make a boat or a birdhouse. More than 20 percent of those attending were from the community.

Rick McCombs, pastor, had the privilege of baptizing two new members into the church. On Sabbath, Sept. 27, 2008, LaDonna Shaw and Jared Lee were welcomed into the Chewelah Church family.

Triplets born April 22, 2008, to Roger and Roxanne Rollins were dedicated to God on Sabbath, Oct. 11, 2008. There are two girls and a boy: Rishona Eden, Raziella Gayle and Rylan Ezekiel. The Rollin's aunt and uncle Barbi and Paul Rollins of Coquille, Ore., assisted at the dedication conducted by McCombs. Older sister RaeAnn, who is 2 years-old, will soon have lots of playmates. Family, church members and friends have pitched in to help hold babies, do canning, prepare meals and whatever else is needed as the Rollins adjust to their expanded family. There is no shortage of arms to hold these sweet babies during church service or fellowship meals.
