Parks Retires From Eagle Church

Pastor Dennis Parks retired from the ministry on Dec. 1, 2006. He and his wife Geri have been at the Eagle Church for about five years. Their ministry here has been a great asset, and they will be greatly missed.

Pastor Parks and his wife Geri began their ministry in Baker, Ore., on Aug. 15, 1960. They pastored in Salmon, Twin Falls, and Boise, Idaho, before being called in 1966 to the Southeastern California Conference, where he was the youth pastor for the Azure Hills Church. He was then the senior pastor for the Oceanside Church and following that, in Centralia, Wash., until 1972. He also taught at Laurelwood Elementary School for four years and worked for a total of 25 years with the Central California Conference.

Finally, he and Geri moved back to Eagle to finish 46 years of ministry. “What a glorious journey it has been,” said Pastor Parks. “Thanks for all the wonderful people we’ve had the opportunity to work with. Our daily prayer is: Come, Lord Jesus.”

The Parks have 4 children and five grandchildren. They are planning to stay in Eagle, Idaho, and help where the Lord needs them. Currently they are active at the Eagle Church, and Pastor Parks is helping to pastor the McCall Church.
