Timberline Students Honor Teacher and Fund Mission Trips

The students at the Timberline Adventist School in Vale, Ore., showed teacher Cheri DeLaRosa how much they appreciated her during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. They started the week by presenting her with a certificate of appreciation. They also surprised her each day with a special gift: Monday—flowers and a gift; Tuesday—cards each student had made; Wednesday—various gifts; Thursday—a cake.

During the past school year the students had saved chore money, collected loose change and donated egg money for two special projects. They presented a $50 check to Allen and Glenna Maine and Sharon Gardner to use on their trip to help with the Katrina disaster clean-up effort. They also presented Cassi Heid, a Vale student attending Walla Walla Valley Academy, a $280 check to help with her travel expenses for a trip she recently made to Peru, where she helped at an orphanage. Heid gave a report of her mission trip with a slide show at the Vale Church on Memorial Day weekend.
