Women's Spring Day Event

Ladies from around the Washington Conference converged in Auburn, Wash., to attend the annual Women’s Spring Day retreat April 16. This retreat began many years ago and continues to grow in size. This year 500 women came to hear Cynthia Tobias, a well-known speaker and author. Tobias has spoken for Focus on the Family and has authored books on learning styles and the strong-willed woman. At this particular retreat, she spoke on this year’s theme, “The Journey,” based on Proverbs 3:6: “In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.”

When women take a journey, they normally take some kind of purse with them. So purses were used as an object lesson to remind us that each day we start anew with the choice to take our journey by ourselves or to take the journey with Jesus. He has created each of us with a unique style and will, and we can be powerful agents for Him if we will submit to Him daily.

Women of all ages were represented. Attendees enjoyed the opportunity to come meet friends from around the conference and grow together in their relationship with God and each other.
