Apple Festival

Riverside Christian School's 25th annual Apple Festival is around the corner.

Come and enjoy the apple pies and apple dumplings. With more than 25 local vendors, food & treats, children games, and apples by the pound, there is something for everybody!

What’s more delicious than a shiny, crisp, sweet-tart apple right from the tree? A whole festival of them, with homemade apple pie and apple dumplings, too! There’s no admission fee, but there will be plenty of autumn delights to purchase baked goods, and Honeycrisp Apples available by the pound. For the kids there will be games, pony rides, a cake walk, confetti eggs, a pie eating contest and even bunnies for sale. Thirty different vendors will be on site selling everything from local arts and crafts to vegetarian burgers, nachos and fresh apple dumplings with ice cream. Take a lovely bouquet home from Petala Flower Farm, Spice it up with Mario’s Salsa, clean up your act with the Soap Chest, add something sweet with My Dad's Kettle Korn, sample some sweet and spicy sauce at Sweet Fire Barbecue, and meet the Friends of the Washougal Library.

The Apple Festival started in 1990, with a few bins of apples for sale and a cider making machine, slowly as the school grew, so did the other projects — such as home made pies and dumplings. Now the festival has over 1,000 people of all ages and interests coming to enjoy the day. The Apple Festival is the primary Home/School fundraiser for Riverside Christian School. Profits go towards new school equipment, technology and programs to enrich student learning. Every student will benefit by the upgrades. Because this year is the 25th Annual Festival, a generous donor has offered to match funds raised up to $10,000. Teachers, volunteers, friends and families of the Riverside Christian School are all rallying to make this event happen.

Parking is available in the school parking lot, down the street, and with shuttle service to and from the site of the old bowling alley — just follow the instructions of the friendly parking attendants. For more information about Riverside Christian School, visit
