NPUC Membership Tops 100,000

Membership in the North Pacific Union Conference (NPUC) has topped 100,000 for the first time, according to official reports issued June 30. The union had 5,600 members when it was originally formed in 1906.

Divided among the six local conferences within the NPUC, the 100,210 members are located as follows:

WWU Students Take Top Film Awards

Walla Walla University (WWU) students took top awards for a second year in a row at SONscreen Film Festival 2016 on March 31–April 2, 2016.

Grant Perdew, international communications graduate, won Best in Festival for his film The Exquisite Outdoors. This film also won top prize in the Best Dramatic Short category. Erik Edstrom, industrial design graduate, won Best Cinematography for that same film.

Edstrom and Jesse Churchill, a theology graduate, took the festival’s top award in 2015 for their film titled The Way.

NAD Year End Meetings Vote Ordination Recommendation

At the North American Division (NAD) year end meetings held October 31 - November 5, 2013, the Biblical Research Committee of the North American Division Theology of Ordination Study Committee (TOSC) released their report. NAD executive committee members voted 182 to 31 to accept the recommendation of the division's Theology of Ordination Study Committee (TOSC) which stated in part: “That we receive the Biblical study of ordination prepared by the North American Division Theology of Ordination Study Committee and affirm the conclusion that all people, men and women, may receive ordination a
