General Conference Resources on Ordination

The General Conference-commissioned Theology of Ordination Study Committee has begun its work in preparation for a report to the October 2014 Annual Council in Silver Spring, Md. It is tasked with answering two important questions:

  • What is the theology of ordination from a biblical perspective?
  • What should the implications of this theology be for Seventh-day Adventist practices, including the question of women’s ordination?

The General Conference office of archives, statistics and research is hosting online resources for those who wish to be appraised of former actions, current process and other important research documents. These resources include links to the Ellen G. White Estate’s online documents regarding her ministerial credentials, select papers from the 1973 Mohaven Committee report, and a list of formal actions from General Conference sessions and committees.
