Pastor's Last Sabbath

Sabbath, June 27 was a very special day, spilled with some regrets at the Hood River (Ore.) Church. It was the last day Charles Brown, pastor, and his wife, Margie would worship with us as interim pastor.

When Pat Milligan, pastor, accepted a call to the Lent (Ore.) Church, the Browns agreed to work and pastor until the new pastor arrived.

During personal ministry time, Bob McCullough, head elder and his wife Jan, presented a picture of Mt Hood looming behind Lost Lake.

Then, Brown led out in a communion service where special encouragement was given as his parting words. Margie sang in her lovely soprano voice the song, "I'd Rather Have Jesus than Anything."

Following the church service, members had a fellowship picnic in their honor in the park next to the church.

We will very much miss the help and advice of this quiet leader. We will also miss his little helpmate, Zac, the miniature donkey and their teaching program, "Don't Let conflict Make a Donkey Out of You," geared especially for youth.
