Idaho Women's Retreat Women Inspired, Renewed

JoAnn Davidson, Andrews University theology professor, explored God's love for women in the Bible during the annual Women's Retreat at Camp Ida-Haven, Sept. 7–9. Her amazing insight and comprehension of scripture opened our understanding to the value and worth He places on us. By delving into the lives of various women in scripture, Davidson persuaded us that we too are women of strength and beauty.

Women often approach these events as a time to escape the usual routine of life, a chance to relax and renew, reacquaint with old friends and make new ones, and as an opportunity to revive spiritually and emotionally. It's a tall order to fill, but one I believe was accomplished for many of the women in attendance.

Hearing the heartfelt testimonies of one woman who has recently returned from the mission field, and the blessing of God's healing love, left many in the audience with tear-filled eyes and warmed hearts. We witnessed the ministering of the Holy Spirit firsthand.

Our prayer break-outs have become a special time of fellowship and seeking the Lord. We had an especially meaningful prayer circle on Sabbath afternoon. The beautiful weather made it even more enjoyable. We came away from the weekend encouraged and renewed to live as women after God's own heart.
