Baptism at Williams Creek

The day was sunny and warm but Williams Creek was icy cold when Robert Heisler, Williams Church pastor, baptized Laura Lee Ferrasci.

Prior to her baptism, Ferrasci gave her testimony. She said the devil had a stranglehold on her and she had contemplated taking her life. One day she came to the lunch that the Community Service Center has each week at the Williams Church. There she found a family of God who loved her as she was and learned of a Savior who also loves her.

She studied a series of Bible lessons, began attending prayer meeting, and when she was ready for baptism she didn't want to wait for warmer weather. She wanted to be baptized right away and commit her life to the Lord. She claimed the promise in John 3:5, 6, which says "Truly, I say unto you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."
