Irrigon Church Adds New Members, Repairs Water Damage

The Irrigon Church started 2007 with two blessings: First, Bill Romp joined the church through baptism and his wife, Lila, joined our fellowship by transferring her membership, and second, we moved back into our church santuary after being displaced for four months. In August, we had extensive water damage in the Sabbath School wing, which resulted in about three weeks' time and work to dry the floors, walls and duct work. Due to the damage and work, we were not able to hold services in the church sanctuary so our Fellowship Center became the place of worship and other activities.

Last year was a great year as well. In March, we hosted the Unlocking the Signs series by Shawn Boostra, which brought five new members to our church through baptism.

We also held an evangelistic series in the fall. We followed the fall series with a vegetarian cooking class on four consecutive Monday evenings. Our classes were directed by Fred Christensen, Irrogon Church pastor, and presenters, Gerry Poulsen, Lavenia Casey and Norma Stahl. An average of 15 people attended.
