Oregon Young Adult Retreat Blesses More than 100 Participants

Excitement was in the air as more than 100 young adults arrived at Big Lake Youth Camp for this year’s Oregon Conference Young Adult Retreat held Sept. 8–10. This year's retreat was organized by Rodney Payne II, Beaverton Church pastor.

Cool, crisp air woke us up on Sabbath as we walked to breakfast, and the Sharon Church brought us to life with a lively song service. Jack Smith, from the Vancouver Church, explored with us Bible texts talking about blind men being healed by Jesus.

Sabbath afternoon provided time for people to relax and visit or to bond while participating in one of the many activities Big Lake has to offer, such as hiking or canoeing. After sundown, the four-way volleyball net was set up for a fun game.

Sunday came all too quickly! We played in the lake one last time where the speed boats were ready for skiing and tubing. The quads were also waiting to take people on trails.

We young adults are excited about next year's retreat, when we can come back, reunite with friends and get to know Jesus even better.
