Ross Prevo Ordained

Ross Prevo was ordained as a minister of the gospel on Sabbath, March 4, in Dillingham, Alaska.

Prevo first felt the call to ministry as a student at Oak Park Academy in Iowa, where he preached his first sermon. However, after graduating from academy, he ran from that call and the church for more than 20 years.

In 1997, Prevo and his wife, Connie, bought and ran an assisted living facility in Georgia just seven miles from Southern Adventist University. Connie felt they should start attending church. Her husband agreed but insisted that it should be an Adventist church.

After attending for three months, he again felt the call to ministry. In August 1998, one month after beginning his religion major at Southern, the Prevos were rebaptized. Ross graduated in 2000 and completed his master of divinity degree in 2004.

Prevo and his wife are each pursuing doctoral degrees in Christian counseling. Prevo pastored in Minnesota prior to coming to Alaska in 2003.
