In March an excited group of 38 women met in Cannon Beach, Ore., for the 10th annual Spiritual Women’s Retreat sponsored by Enumclaw Women’s Ministries. Eleven mother-daughter couples were present. Two men were allowed because they and their wives were our awesome chefs!
In honor of the group's tenth anniversary we were showered with many special luxuries. Friday night and Sabbath Tricia Caldwell encouraged and challenged us to live free of bitterness and resentments with her incredible life story. Sabbath afternoon provided time to enjoy a beach walk, talk with each other or to take a nap without our usual interruptions at home. As Sabbath came to a close we were given a tangible reminder of the weekend with our personal copy of “The One Year Bible for Women.”
Saturday night entertainment began as Miss Timkammy tickled our imagination with step-by-step instructions on how to create the perfect chocolate cream pie. Her demonstration brought roaring laughter. Afterwards we split up in small groups to enjoy activities, including exclusive use of an indoor swimming pool and hot tub.
