Dominican Republic Mission Trip Skagit Adventist School

Seven students and four adults from the Skagit Adventist School in Burlington, Wash., went to the Dominican Republic during spring break to help build a church and a school. They also conducted a Vacation Bible School, played games with the kids, taught English and played basketball.

The students shared some of their experiences with the North Cascade Church on two different Sabbaths. They described the heat and humidity, heavy traffic, ice cream that was the highlight of the day and water fights. They found the people to be friendly and nice. Most reported that their faith was strengthened by the experience. According to student Alleigh Regan, she learned to “expect the unexpected.”

Another trip is scheduled for July and will include some public and home school students.
