Adventist Ministries Convention 2017: Compassion Movement Outreach Project

Attendees devoted several hours of their time during the North American Division (NAD) Adventist Ministries Convention in Tucson, Ariz., to serve the local community by assisting two under-resourced public schools through Tucson Serve the City (in partnership with 4Tucson). At the Elvira Elementary School project volunteers painted approximately 700 sq. ft. of brick wall; added fresh paint to an existing desert scene mural; swept walk ways; raked leaves from playgrounds; and assisted with a door-cutting project from the kindergarten.

The New Testament story of Jesus, the true Chosen One and the greatest hero of all, we begin with a look into his family history, his genealogy, for clues about what this particular hero is all about. The first thing we encounter in Matthew 1:1-17 is a careful account of how a lineage of men can be traced from Abraham (the founding father of the Jewish faith) to “Joseph, the husband of Mary, [...] the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah” (Matthew 1:16).
